Welcome to the Spring 2024 Gooding Wellness Newsletter, where we highlight the happenings of our practice both in the community and our offices. As you will see, our clinicians have been keeping busy in between their sessions with school events, fundraisers, wellness awareness and much more. These events help us stay connected to our community as well as learn and grow as individuals and a practice. Sit back and enjoy the second installment of the Good News Newsletter!
Liana Attends Northport High School Wellness Week
On April 18, Liana Ross attended Northport High School Wellness Week. Each year, the high school invites health providers from the community to showcase the services offered and find creative ways to engage with the students. This year students completed a board which asked “who do you count on?”, where students wrote down the names of an adult they can go to when in need of emotional support. Northport students were also presented with wellness resources and some of our complimentary stickers that promote mental health. As always, we are also grateful to support Anthony Ferrandino and the entire Northport High School Community.
Peter Juliano Visits Mountainside Treatment Center in Canaan, CT
On April 19, Peter traveled to Canaan, CT to visit Mountainside Treatment Center. The Gooding Wellness Group and Mountainside have a long working history together, and it was great to have Peter see the facility in person. Mountainside offers access to a complete spectrum of alcohol and drug rehabilitation programs: from detox, residential treatment, and extended care, to outpatient services and recovery coaching – for seamless, comprehensive care. We truly appreciate the amazing work Mountainside does, and look forward to continuing to collaborate together.
Liana Ross Presents at The Trainer Page in Ronkonkoma for Perinatal Mental Health Week in May
Liana was joined by eight other moms for an honest, open, discussion where they shared what it has been like for them as mothers and their experiences with perinatal mental health. Liana led the group in a self-care exercise which allowed everyone to reflect on coping tools they currently use to navigate their mental health, as well as developing a self-care plan they can commit to. The moms finished with a meditation focusing on positive affirmations.
Staff Photography Session in May
In May, the group had our annual photo session shoot in the Sweetie Pies Garden with photographer Erin Rechler. Erin did an amazing job! It was great to catch up in person and make some of our own therapists slightly uncomfortable by taking lots of pictures with them. Despite the discomfort, a few laughs were had and the weather was fantastic. As always, the property around our offices and Sweetie Pies was the perfect backdrop for our team pictures. Thank you, Erin Rechler Photography for a great shoot and some amazing pictures!
Mental Health Day at Cold Spring Harbor High School with Liana Ross
On May 15, Liana Ross attended the Cold Spring Harbor High School Mental Health Day. Liana showcased the various services that Gooding Wellness Group offers and met with students and staff. Students were presented with wellness resources and some of our complimentary stickers that promote mental health. We were so grateful to be able to support one of our local school districts on this important day.
Welcome Julia Purcaro & Danielle Sweeney

This spring, the Gooding Wellness clinical team was fortunate to add Julia and Danielle; two amazing and experienced clinicians.
Danielle Sweeney is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with over 20 years experience in the field. She has a long history of providing counseling services to young adults and families, with a special emphasis on addictive behaviors and co-occurring disorders.
Julia Purcaro is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with a long history of supporting families struggling with issues such as addiction and co-occurring disorders. We are just so excited and proud to welcome both of these amazing clinicians to our team!
Peter Attends a Golf Outing Fundraiser
On May 17th, the Gooding Wellness Group was proud to help sponsor the Michael Russano Golf Classic to help raise funds for cardiomyopathy awareness. Associate Director, Peter Juliano attended the event, which is an annual celebration of Michael Russano's legacy. In addition to promoting cardiomyopathy awareness, the event raised funds for the Michael Russano Scholarship. The scholarship is awarded to a Northport High School student who demonstrates leadership skills, empathy, and community service. We are proud to support this important community event.
The Virtual Support Group with Wellbridge Continues
