Addiction Recovery & Support

Recovery is a team sport.

This is outpatient, one-on-one counseling — not a detox or residential treatment program. It's designed for people who are ready to do the ongoing work of recovery with a therapist who understands addiction, whether that's alongside a 12-step program, after completing treatment elsewhere, or as your primary support.

Sometimes, to avoid the pain we’re feeling around what’s happening in our lives, we find ourselves turning to any number of things to avoid having to think about it. It might be drugs, alcohol, relationships, shopping, gambling, food, or sex. In each case, we’re trying to avoid the fear and pain we’re feeling.

Recognizing and confronting addiction and beginning the process of recovery is one of the bravest and most meaningful challenges you can confront.

Recovery doesn’t just mean abstinence. It means learning to live life on life’s terms, developing positive coping skills, and discovering ways to deal with challenges like difficult emotions, loneliness, and boredom in a constructive way.

Twelve-step programs are a valuable means of support and sometimes you need more, or simply a different type of help. Wherever you are on your journey, having a therapist who understands and specializes in recovery can be an invaluable partner. We make sure you’re matched with one who is right for your situation and challenges.

Is this outpatient counseling or a rehab program?

This is outpatient, individual therapy — not detox or residential treatment. We work with people at any stage of recovery, often alongside or after a formal treatment program.

Do you offer support for family members, not just the person in recovery?

Yes. We run a free Virtual Family Support Group in collaboration with Wellbridge Treatment, led by Liana Ross, LMHC, CASAC, for families impacted by a loved one's addiction.

I've already tried a 12-step program, can this help too?

Yes. Twelve-step programs are valuable, and many clients pair them with individual therapy for additional, personalized support.

Do you treat behavioral addictions, not just substance use?

Yes — our clinicians work with substance use as well as behavioral patterns like compulsive shopping, gambling, and other ways people avoid difficult emotions.
