Chelsea Moccio believes strongly in meeting her clients where they are at as they enter her office. She aims (and succeeds) at providing a safe and non-judgmental space to assist her clients in achieving their specific and customized goals. No two people are the same, and Chelsea takes this into account by striving to employ a variety of techniques from a number of different modalities in order to individualize treatment for her clients.
After earning her masters in social work from Stony Brook University, she has worked tirelessly in both non-for-profit agencies as well as private practices. Her specialty is in trauma and helping individuals overcome various emotional and environmental hurdles which impair their emotional, physical and social wellness. Trauma comes in many forms; Assault, child abuse, military distress and violence all the way to less severe trauma like deaths, unexpected life changes and losses.
Chelsea has a true passion and affinity for working with children, adolescents and their families, especially those who have experienced trauma, anxiety, depression, self-harm and low self-esteem. She believes that all people have unique strengths and that hers exists in utilizing those strengths to meet her clients’ unique treatment goals.
